A special weather forecast was issued on Wednesday morning, saying cyclone ‘Amphan’, which is located in the northwestern Bay of Bengal and adjoining the northeastern Bay of Bengal and in the west-central Bay of Bengal, has moved north-northeast and is currently in the same area.
The cyclone was located 525 km southwest of Chittagong seaport, 515 km southwest of Cox’s Bazar seaport, 345 km southwest of Mongla seaport and 360 km southwest of Payra seaport at 9 am today.

The meteorological office said in a special statement that it could move further north-northeast and cross the coasts of West Bengal and Bangladesh through the Sundarbans this afternoon or evening. Within 75 kilometers of the super cyclone center, the maximum sustained wind speed is 200 kilometers per hour, increasing to 220 kilometers per hour in the form of gusts or gusty winds. The sea near the center of the super cyclone is very turbulent.

Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to show danger signal number 10. The coastal districts of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalokati, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barisal, Laxmipur, Chandpur and their outlying islands and chars will be under Emergency Signal 10.
Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar seaports have been asked to show danger signal number 9. The coastal districts of Noakhali, Feni, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar and their outlying islands and chars will be under the Great Danger Signal 9.
Coastal districts Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalokati, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barisal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chittagong and their adjoining islands and chars More than 15 feet high can be flooded.
